The second great walking course at Sand Valley, and in some ways the more interesting one
The second great walking course at Sand Valley, and in some ways the more interesting one. Mammoth Dunes plays flatter and wider than its neighbor, with generous fairways that reward bold lines off the tee. The native fescue framing each hole creates visual drama without constant punishment. At over 7,200 yards from the tips, the par-73 layout stretches out, but the terrain never fights you. Caddies are available and worth considering for a first round. Walkers who find Bandon too demanding in pace or Erin Hills too punishing in recovery will land here and finally feel like they're walking a great American course built for them, not for a TV broadcast.
