Nine holes at Volga, South Dakota. 3,128 yards of flat prairie walking for the before-work crowd, the lunch-break regulars, and the after-school set. Slope of 113 puts this squarely in moderate territory. Enough movement to notice, not enough to dread. The nine-hole public course is the most democratic format in golf. Meadow Creek does its job without asking for more credit than it deserves. Pace of play ratings run high here, which matters on a walking round where momentum is everything.
