Northwest Kansas, population not much, golf course still standing. Phillipsburg keeps eighteen holes open on the high plains where plenty of towns gave up on theirs. The terrain is honest prairie flat. No elevation games, no tricks. Walk-friendly by default because the land just is. A course like this exists for the people who live here and the few who pass through with clubs in the trunk. Green fees won't hurt. The walk won't either.
