Built into the rolling terrain south of Peoria, this Hale Irwin design uses elevation changes the way good courses should. Greens sit above you, below you, and occasionally hidden until you crest a ridge. The walk between holes stays reasonable, though a few climbs will remind you this isn't flat Illinois farmland. Fourteen holes currently in play while renovations continue. Worth the drive from Chicago if you want proper topography without crossing state lines.
